Beaumont Hospital, Grosse Pointe is holding a series of community education programs to promote women’s health.
The monthly motivational series now through April features two area businesswomen who will coach women on how to fire up self-discipline, get past unhealthy things holding them back and create a bucket list of things they long to accomplish.
A Feb. 13 workshop targets “Five Ways to Knock Negativity” by living lighthearted with a positive mindset. At the event, Marie Reinman, director of Cardiovascular Services, Beaumont, Grosse Pointe, will provide an overview of women's heart health and warning signs. The program is from 7 to 9 p.m. at the hospital’s Connelly Auditorium, 468 Cadieux, Grosse Pointe.
At the “No Excuses” workshop on March 27, Beaumont, Grosse Pointe, Breast Care Center nurse navigator Bernadine Sherwood will provide information on the services offered at the new center. The program is from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Grosse Pointe War Memorial, 32 Lake Shore Drive, Grosse Pointe Farms.
In April, the “Friendship Lifts Your Heart” workshop will help women create new friendships, because friends are the "best medicine." The April 10 event includes Michael Brennan, D.O., Beaumont Endocrine Center, who will discuss women's hormone health. Physical therapist Jean Alway will provide information on women's pelvic health. This program is from 7 to 9 p.m. at the hospital’s Connelly Auditorium.
